Important Information

2020 CLE Compliance

In consideration of the continuing need to take measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Louisiana Supreme Court has issued an Order lifting the online MCLE limit for 2020 from 4 hours to 12.5 hours.
We are currently working to update member transcripts to reflect this change.

Additionally, the Supreme Court issued an Order on June 22, 2020 clarifying how the previous Order will affect 2019 carry forward hours:

*To ensure the courses you are taking will count towards your 2020 credit, please see the MCLE Calendar for courses that are already approved in Louisiana. There is no guarantee that out of state courses will be accepted for Louisiana credit.

2019 Compliance

The MCLE Compliance Deadline was December 31st, 2019.

The deadline for earning credits was December 31, 2019 and the deadline for filing those credits or an exemption was January 31, 2020.  Please check your records to be sure you are compliant.

Final Noncompliance Notices were mailed on Monday, June 1, 2020 if you are not compliant with 2019 MCLE requirements.  All missing credits must be reported and the delinquency fee must be received by the MCLE Office by June 30, 2020, after which you will be certified ineligible to practice in Louisiana.

If you are experiencing undue hardship, you should contact the MCLE Director, Mindi Hunter, about your situation. An attorney experiencing serious medical or other issues can qualify for a waiver or some degree of relevant assistance to help reach the compliance requirement for the year.
